Fano Jazz by the Sea 2004 – 2007

Fano Jazz, la Storia: parte 3 (dal 2004 al 2007)

Fano Jazz By The Sea, 2004

Fano Jazz By The Sea 2004 is undoubtedly a special edition. First of all, it is because the festival adopts for the first time what will become the official logo in the following years, the trumpet-shaped string that is still the symbol of the festival. The new image will characterize the Fano festival until 2016.

That of 2004 is also the first edition in which among the locations there is the Marina dei Cesari at the Porto Turistico di Fano. The festival is getting closer and closer – physically – to the sea.

Do not miss the prominent artists in ’04, including the Yellowjackets and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis.

Fano Jazz By The Sea, 2005

The approach to the sea also continues in the 2005 edition of Fano Jazz By The Sea, where the stage is presented again at the Porto Turistico di Fano, Marina dei Cesari. There is no shortage of leading artists, including Joe Zawinul & The Zawinul Syndicate and Ahmad Jamal, with their (fantastic) performances, which are still impressed in the memory of the spectators.

To remember the 2005 edition for the moments of fear due to an alarm bomb – later revealed bogus – after which the location of the Malatesta Court will be evacuated just before the concert by Joe Zawinul.

Locations: Anfiteatro Rastatt, Marina dei Cesari (Porto Turistico Fano), Corte Malatestiana, Piazza XX settembre

Artists: Wallace Roney Group – Joe Zawinul & The Zawinul Syndicate – Marcus Miler – Ahmad Jamal – John Scopfield – Chris Potter

Fano Jazz By The Sea, 2006

Fano Jazz By The Sea 2006 sees the festival still in a different version. Again the stage at the Marina dei Cesari, which however is facing the sea for the first time. The notes of the musicians play – literally – in the sea, a fundamental element of the festival. Among the leading artists of the ’06 edition to mention Maceo Parker undoubtedly.

Locations: Corte Malatestiana, Marina dei Cesari (Porto Turistico Fano), Teatro della Fortuna, Anfiteatro Rastatt

Artists: RICHARD GALLIANO / MICHEL PORTAL – SCOTT HENDERSON – HANK JONES – DEE DEE BRIDGEWATER – RICHARD BONA – MACEO PARKER

Fano Jazz By The Sea, 2007

The 2007 edition of Fano Jazz By The Sea again sees the stage at the Marina dei Cesari facing the sea, with a particularly significant moment. During a heavy downpour, the artists are manually covered with umbrellas so as not to interrupt the exhibition, underlining the desire not to give up even when faced with problems.

Among the most influential artists of the ’07 edition of Fano Jazz By The Sea are Stefano Bollani, Randy Weston, Mike Stern and Chucho Valdes.
